Ate Joy alongside with my niece and nephew rendezvoused with me at NAIA 3 since my Naga flight's schedule was about 30 minutes behind their time of arrival. Airport bus transfer for Php 20.00 to Baclaran church followed and we flagged down a Tagaytay City bound bus.
For the first tier of our Mountain province ascent, we planned out this Taal Lake cruise and Taal Volcano horseback riding trek interlude with Ate Joy, Emelie, Emerson and Froy.
We chartered a boat for there was no regular trip to take us to the other side of the lake. The lake was, in all fairness, clean, deep, wide and picturesque. But across the lake, the area was dingy and everything was an eyesore. No amenities at all and all is pricey. Horse rental plus a guide costs PHP 1,500.00.
When you summit the crater, the weak bamboo fences are another eyesore to behold, except for a few meter long steel railings donated by Korean benefactors. As a consolation on our descent, I was mistaken as a Korean tourist by some locals guides (lol) since a great number of Koreans dominated the background.

We raced with time as we have to be at Trinoma to meet up with Ate Juliet Dalupan and friends before 7 PM.
Next in line, Banaue Rice Terraces!
