Savoring Davao and Samal Island (May 16-19, 2009)

This trip marks the advent of my Philippine travels. For the record, Pinky Laguio Mendoza, from Paranaque City booked this trip and is my first travel mate. Our object was to meet up with John Corcino in Davao and Gigette Demaisip Durana in Iloilo City, with a swift visit to Boracay. Things all worked out as planned.

My sister Grace fetched us at the airport and we took photos of the giant landmark, a durian right outside the airport, and headed directly to her city house and spent the night there before we were picked up by John.

John, our busy but gracious host housed us at Lakan's Pakals in Tagum City, toured us to Samal Island: Jazz Resort with the Philippines longest water-slides and Hagimit Falls, shopped at malls for eats and souvenir items.

We also paid my eldest sister, Ate Joy in Panabo City, a very short visit before enplaning to Iloilo for our next stop.

Thank you John, Nini and Ate. =)
