Egged on by my traveling penchant, this Bohol trip was conceived out of my desire to visit more touristic places, and for the come-ons from airlines' airfare promos given out to the public and to a poor traveler like me. Also, it was my first time to travel with my eldest sister, Ate Joy who resides in Panabo City, Davao Del Norte, and to travel for the second time with Ate Juliet Dalupan, from Meycauyan, Bulacan, my newfound travel buddy whom I have known during our Puerto Princesa City - 05 July 2009- (Underground River Tour).
We all rendezvoused at Manila Domestic Airport Terminal and made this Halloween getaway into action and with great excitement. But our touchdown on the runway of Tagbilaran was rough and made us a little bit aback. We smelled the offensive fumes from the tires while still aboard the plane. Apart from that landing incident, nothing else bothered us.
Finding the suggested transient room at the GSP Headquarters was easy. After our late lunch, we contacted a recommended driver for the afternoon tour. Shortly the driver arrived and drove us to Panglao Island to see Hinagdanan cave, because of the stairs, and enjoyed organic meal and eats at Bee Farm, and finally ended our afternoon sight-seeing by watching the sunset at Panglao Beach, Alona Kew in particular.
The road was rough and bumpy but that did not bother us. We were rather amused that the very short bridge that separates the city from Panglao making it an island made us grin.
The cave was so-so but the pool inside was amazing. From there, we headed to the Bee Farm to enjoy the countryside with organic stuff ranging from rice, bread, ice cream and the flower salad. (See photo) Our last stop for our half-day tour was a short walk and a glimpse at the sunset, and hunted for some eats for the night.

The next day was the big thing. Our driver-cum-guide fetched us to complete his contract with us by taking us to Loboc River, Chocolate Hills, Tarsiers (Tarsus) and other shrines. We had our first panoramic view of Chocolate Hills at Sagbayan Peak and the icing on it at Chocolate Hills Complex. I gazed in awe at the magnificent spectacle and went on enjoying every moment at the view decks and our treks on both occasions.
It was the Loboc River cruise that thrilled me the most enjoying our late lunch aboard the cruise boat, the river and the raft with performers and the twin falls signaling that it was time for us to head back to the jetty.
The little tarsiers (Tarsus), the world's smallest primates are just too entertaining though they are piteous in their state because they are supposed to be in the woods or in the wild and not exposed to people. I was told that they are shy and when distressed, commit suicide by banging their heads on hard objects.
On our way back to Tagbilaran, the Sandugo or the Blood Compact Shrine was our last stop. Since the throng was unabated, we bought stuffed-tarsier fridge magnets and key chains for pasalubong. It's the best possible pasalubong one could take home. Actually I scored a canned stuffed tarsier from a mall which I still keep to date.
It was almost dusk when the shrine was cleared and it was our time to do our final photo ops. That concluded our tour.

The last day was a visit to the Peanut Kisses factory. It made our luggage hefty and paid for the extra weight. Truly, our Bohol getaway was fantastic!
